We've been learning about our 5 senses - and gingerbread seemed to tie in. We created these gingerbread houses at one of the art tables this week. Children were invited to paint a house. Some used brown paint and some mixed in a little white. When the houses were dry, the children used white paint (frosting) to outline the houses. Finally, they used sticky foam candy shapes to finish off the houses.

love this! Wonder what would happen if you mixed ginger spice in the paint?
mmm.... they would have loved that. should have thought of it. i'm a little christmas stressed at the moment so i guess that's my excuse. we did a smelling station at the science table so i even had the spices! darn!
they might have tried to eat the paint though!!! At least some of my Kindergarteners would. You might have saved yourself!
